Celebrate Halloween on your bike – and in costume, if you’d like! – in the 2nd annual Tour de Cure Halloween Ride. We're thrilled to be hosting this great event at Down 2 Earth Farms!
You won't want to miss this opportunity to get in a great autumn ride on the beautiful roads around Rougemont, NC - plus catch up with old friends and meet new friends from the ADA Triangle Tour de Cure community. The route includes two loops, which allows riders three distance options: 23 miles, 27 miles, and a combined 50 miles.
Date: Saturday, October 24
Location: Down 2 Earth Farms, 8115 New Sharon Church Road, Rougemont, NC
Fundraising: If you're a registered rider for the 2016 Triangle Tour de Cure, 100% of your registration fee will go to your fundraising minimum!
9:30am: 27mi/50mi check-in
10:30am: 27mi/50mi ride start
12:30pm: 23mi check-in
1pm: 23mi ride start
3pm: All routes close & social begins
- 4:30pm: Social ends
The 50 mile route consists of a 27 mile rolling-to-hilly loop followed by a 23 mile rolling-to-flat scenic loop. The first loop (27 mile and 50 mile riders) will leave the farm at 10:30am. The second loop (23 mile and 50 mile riders) will leave the farm around 1pm, or as soon as the 50 mile riders complete the 27 mile loop. This is done to encourage as many riders as possible to finish together and join in the fun of the Halloween-themed post-ride social which will start around 3pm.
Did someone say costumes? YES! We will have costume contests for both individuals and teams (teams must have at least three members to enter the team contest). Be creative in picking your bicycle friendly costume. Special surprises are in store for our winners.
Know someone interested in volunteering at the ride? We could not do our event(s) without the amazing support from our local volunteers. Please email Allison Barry at email@example.com if you know someone interested in volunteering at the ride! We could use support setting up decorations, manning rest stops, cheering on riders, and more. They will earn $29 in diabetes dollars that will go toward their Tour fundraising minimum (or choose to donate their dollars to your’s!).
Pre- and During Ride Information:
- A lite breakfast will be provided prior to your ride start time. Breakfast will include bagels, coffee and fruit!
We will also have a fully stocked rest stop on both routes during the day.
- A local bike shop will be positioned at Down 2 Earth Farms and on route as needed. You are in great hands!
Post Ride Information: (All about the Social!)
This event will be a BYOC (Bring your own chair) event. Due to limited seats on site, if you would like to sit in a chair, please bring one with you.
Post-ride meal will include a local food truck (food for purchase) and complimentary beer.
